Last night we had the Bayswater Farm Carnival. This was a mellow 'Beat-the-Winter Blues' party with good company, good music and good food. The jambalaya was nerve-racking. It overflowed the new 42cm paella pan and made a frightful mess. I thought the (American long-grain) rice was never going to cook: the Commanders Palace recipe book said 30min. Oh yeah! More like 90. But, boy, was it good! And Kath's French-bread-and-butter pudding was a triumph, though for some reason she thought it tasted of coconut (and therefore disgusting!). Chacune a sa goût.
